Study of church birth records for the last three hundred years has shown that town locations as recorded in the mostly latin texts were Druzbach, Inferioris Villa, Superioris Villa, Also and Felso Ruzbach and Laczkova. Druzbach was probably the designation of Ruzbach when it was very small. As it grew, the Felso location most likely designated upper Ruzbach and the Also location was probably the lower town. Today, the upper location is called Vysne (Slovak for upper) and the lower location is called Nizne (Slovak for lower). Today, Vysne Ruzbachy is famous for the hot springs located there. The town is a popular tourist area. |
